Cardinals rookie RB Love to miss a week due to sore ankle

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love will miss the next week to let a sore ankle he injured in Thursday night's preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders heal, coach Mike LaFleur said Saturday.

Love was more sore Friday than he was Thursday, said LaFleur, who added that the running back was "more sore than we were anticipating."

"He was in great spirits even yesterday," LaFleur said.

LaFleur said the Cardinals will reevaluate Love's ankle next week before deciding on a plan for the rest of the preseason. With Love not practicing this week, he also won't play in Saturday night's preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.
