Everton's Martin Sherif charged with breaching FA betting rules

Everton under-21 forward Martin Sherif has been charged with breaching Football Association betting rules.

The Liberian-born 20-year-old, who joined the Toffees academy at the age of 13, is accused of placing 61 bets over a 16-month period.

"Martin Sherif has until Monday, August 17 to provide a response."

The former Netherlands under-17 international spent last season on loan at League One sides Rotherham and Port Vale.
