Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta claimed on the eve of this season that he wanted his side to "attack the title" rather than defend it. We're all still waiting to see the Gunners shift into gear.
Of course, it might not matter. The Gunners' impressive squad depth was on show once more Sunday as Noni Madueke's deflected 80th-minute winner secured a hard-fought 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest.
It is their 10th win from 11 matches across all competitions this season and -- assuming Manchester City are punished for their 114 breaches of the Premier League's financial rules -- then Arsenal are the overwhelming favorites to retain the league they won for the first time in 22 years.
Their only defeat thus far came at Brighton prior to the international break, and results offer Arteta an easy counter to any suggestion they had to regain their momentum in three matches since.
"You play 11 games, you win 10 and you lose momentum? So, what is it then? Then you have to win every game and that's extremely difficult to do and nobody else does it," he said, understandably.
But Sunday offered another game where you would've been entitled to expect a little more -- especially given Arteta's desire to dominate opponents with greater conviction than they managed last season.
