Xabi Alonso said it is too early to tell whether Chelsea are going the "right way" as he looks for greater balance from his free-scoring team.
A chaotic start to life under the Spanish coach sees the Blues sit as the third-highest scorers in the Premier League with 15 goals from their six games, yet no team in the division has conceded more than their 13.

In total there have been 28 goals scored in Chelsea's league games so far with six more coming in last weekend's 5-1 win over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
"You need a lot of clean sheets to win trophies," Alonso said. "But you need to score a lot of goals. So it's about being strong in defence, being good in attack and we are in that process.
"We are still early days. This first part we've been doing good things, other things to be improved. To do a very deep analysis, it's too early probably.

Much of the issue in conceding goals has come from a lack of control in midfield, a problem that appeared largely to have been fixed on Saturday as Moisés Caicedo made his first start of the season.
The return of the Ecuador midfielder after a calf injury brought far greater stability in the middle of the pitch, with Jordan Henderson, who scored his first two goals for the club as the Cherries were routed, also influential alongside him.
The pair are likely to be used together more than had been planned in the coming weeks with Reece James likely to be out until the new year after undergoing what the club called "minor" surgery on a knee problem.
"It's one game, but we saw positives," Alonso said. "Moises helps Hendo, Hendo helps Moises. I think as well Rom [Roméo] Lavia is in a good moment. He played 25 minutes and he did really well. We need not just two midfielders, we need more than that.
"In terms of personalities, they match well. Hendo he has this energy, he is very active, he covers a lot of pitch. He finds a balance with Moisés who is more in position, he has this stability to be in good distances with everything.
