LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears will be without running back Kyle Monangai when they face the Green Bay Packers in Week 5.
Monangai was ruled out Friday by coach Ben Johnson while dealing with thumb and toe injuries coming off a career-high 30 carries in Chicago's 23-12 win over the Jets. Though Johnson said earlier this week that Monangai's injured thumb "is not an issue," he added that the turf toe is a "bigger deal" than the team initially anticipated.
Monangai, who is in a walking boot, saw a specialist for the toe injury and is considered "week-to-week" in his recovery. He is not a candidate for injured reserve, according to Johnson.
