The close finishes provided plenty of fuel for trash talk and sharp sound bites as some of the game's best moments come from what's said before or after the whistle.
Players and coaches carried their teams' momentum from the field to the podium, delivering standout lines in their postgame sessions.
From bold statements to perfectly timed one-liners, here are the best quotes from around the NFL in Week 4.
"My grandma came out here, which was really good to see."
Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb
Delivering a dominant performance in his adopted hometown, Lamb guided the Cowboys to a dramatic triumph Sunday afternoon.
The wideout had a career-high 17 receptions for 189 yards, capped by a go-ahead 12-yard touchdown grab with under a minute remaining to seal a 34-30 decision over the winless Texans.
Originally from Louisiana, Lamb relocated to the Houston region following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. A large contingent of family members, including his grandmother, traveled to watch Lamb on Sunday.
"Obviously, we had our opportunities in the last two weeks, but this isn't Armageddon or anything."
Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow
Addressing his team's consecutive defeats following a 2-0 opening stretch, Burrow openly acknowledged his frustration while maintaining perspective on Cincinnati's outlook.
"You can't ride the roller coaster week-to-week," Burrow added. "You're going to win some; you're going to lose some. Obviously, you want to win every single one [and] you're going to fight like hell to make it happen, but we're not going to ride that roller coaster."
"We're not going to get into any bulletin board material.... An elevated guy made a hell of a catch -- probably won't hear from him again.... A practice squad player made a hell of a play."
Buffalo Bills CB C.J. Gardner-Johnson
Wide receiver Efton Chism III hauled in a sensational one-handed touchdown reception Sunday, sealing the Patriots' 29-26 comeback victory over the Bills. The play marked just the seventh career reception for Chism, an undrafted free agent in 2025 who, Gardner-Johnson's quip notwithstanding, has spent his entire tenure on the active roster rather than the practice squad. After signing with New England as an undrafted rookie in 2025, Chism secured a place on the 53-man roster out of training camp. Across 11 regular-season appearances in his young career, the receiver has remained on the main squad without ever being relegated to practice team status.
