RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks ruled out starting running back Jadarian Price for their game Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Price is dealing with a chest injury he initially suffered in Week 2 and aggravated in practice Wednesday, according to coach Mike Macdonald. The team's first-round pick did not practice Thursday or Friday.
Macdonald said he isn't sure how long Price will be sidelined.
"By no means is this JD's fault or anything like that," Macdonald said. "This is just what happens in football. Unfortunately, injuries happen. He can't control these things. He's done everything we've asked him to do since he got here. He's had a great attitude. He's been a great teammate. He has a great future. He's going to play great football for us when he comes back, whenever that is.... It's just unfortunate."
The only other Seahawks players with game designations are safety Ty Okada and backup linebacker Chazz Surratt (calf), who are both questionable. Okada was slated to start this season alongside Julian Love before suffering a hamstring injury that has kept him out of the first three games.
