CAMDEN, N.J. -- Having earned two All-Star nods in the last three seasons and coming off a campaign in which he averaged a career-high 28.3 points per game, Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is primed for another big year.
But the 25-year-old said Wednesday after the Sixers' second practice of training camp that the only metric he cares about for Philadelphia's highly anticipated upcoming season is team success.
"I'm at the point now where I've showed what I can do talent-wise," Maxey said. "Of course, I'm going to continue to get better, but I want to be judged by winning. If we win, that's what I want to be judged by. That's really my main mindset, my main goal, is finding ways to win."
Maxey was the first of Philly's four major stars -- including Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and LeBron James -- to speak to reporters since training camp started Tuesday.
Brown sidestepped a query on media day Monday when asked about how the Sixers will determine a pecking order and identify an "alpha" by replying: "Next question."
