The Steelers are trading Porter to the Cowboys for a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-round selection, sources confirmed to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe and ESPN's Todd Archer.
The trade marks the end of a monthslong saga that stretched throughout the Steelers' offseason as Porter, one of the team's 2023 second-round picks, awaited an extension and was sidelined with a back injury.

Vikings trade QB McCarthy to Giants
Giants get: QB J.J. McCarthy Vikings get: 2027 fifth-round pick
The Giants traded for Vikings quarterback McCarthy on Monday, sending a 2027 fifth-round draft pick to Minnesota for the 2024 first-round pick. McCarthy, taken by the Vikings with the No. 10 pick, was the third-string quarterback in Minnesota behind starter Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz.
Giants coach John Harbaugh said after their Week 3 victory over the Titans that Jameis Winston would remain the Giants' starter even if the team added another quarterback. He reiterated that Monday after the trade for McCarthy.
