RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet will miss at least the first four games of the season after remaining on the physically unable to perform list Sunday.
Charbonnet, Seattle's co-starter in 2025, began training camp on the PUP while working his way back from knee surgery. Speaking with reporters after the 6 p.m. ET deadline for NFL teams to trim their rosters to 53 players, Seahawks general manager John Schneider said the team didn't consider taking Charbonnet off PUP to begin the season.
However, all indications are that his rehab has gone well. Charbonnet tore the ACL in his left knee in the divisional round of the playoffs in January, then had surgery in February. He was seen running in a straight line on adjacent practice fields under the watch of Seahawks trainers early in training camp.
Charbonnet will not be eligible to play until the Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5. However, a change to the PUP rules this year means he can begin practicing as early as Week 3.
