Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday morning on drunken driving charges.
Allen, 34, faces preliminary charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OVWI) and OVWI endangering a person, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Both are misdemeanor charges.
According to police, Allen was arrested in downtown Indianapolis at approximately 1 a.m. ET. As of Sunday morning, he was being held at the Marion County Arrestee Processing Center, according to the jail records.
Police said officers approached Allen's vehicle, which was parked in a no-parking zone. Allen showed "signs of intoxication," according to police, and was arrested after further investigation.
"We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night," the Colts said in a statement. "We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."
Allen joined the Colts earlier this month on a one-year deal. The 14-year veteran played briefly in Saturday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions, finishing with one catch for 24 yards.
A six-time Pro Bowler, Allen had 81 receptions last season with the Los Angeles Chargers. He spent his first 11 seasons with the Chargers before being traded to the Chicago Bears in 2024 following a contract dispute.
