In a move to aid a running backs room that has been impacted by injuries during training camp, the New Orleans Saints acquired Zamir White in a trade that sent veteran linebacker Deion Jones to the San Francisco 49ers, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday night.
The deal fills a short-term need for the Saints, who are thin in the backfield. Longtime starter Alvin Kamara is out for at least several weeks because of an MCL injury he suffered last week. Audric Estime (ankle) did not travel to California for the team's preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday after he injured his ankle in New Orleans' first preseason contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. And Devin Neal has been dealing with hamstring issues during camp. He returned last week but then reinjured the hamstring Saturday, forcing him to leave against the Rams.
