Ex-NFLPA lawyer settles lawsuit with union over alleged retaliation

Heather McPhee, the NFL Players Association's longtime associate general counsel before her firing last December, has settled the federal lawsuit in which she accused the union, its former executive director and two other senior executives of conspiring to keep her from cooperating with a criminal inquiry into union finances.

According to a court motion filed Friday in Washington federal court, McPhee and defendants in her case "have executed a final settlement agreement in this matter." The parties asked U.S. District Judge Amir H. Ali to delay all pending action in the case for 30 days while the parties ensure all conditions of their settlement are met.
