The Germany international is viewed as a potential alternative to Newcastle United's Lewis Hall, who looks set to remain at St James' Park. Leipzig captain Raum, 28, has a £34 million release clause in his contract, although United believe a deal could be negotiated down to £30 million, should the player be keen on making the switch to Old Trafford.
- Paris Saint-Germain are in advanced negotiations with Barcelona over the signing of Ferran Torres, Florian Plettenberg reports. However, there is still no final agreement in place over a transfer fee for Spain's World Cup final match-winner. Sources told ESPN at the weekend that Torres has told Barcelona he wants to join PSG this summer after agreeing personal terms with the European champions. The 26-year-old has just one year to run on his contract with Barça, and the source added that the Spanish champions will not stand in his way if a fee can be agreed with PSG. Torres is now is reportedly ready to undergo a medical at PSG if and when a deal is finalised between the two clubs.
